WHAT IS THE GYROTONIC® METHOD?

The Gyrotonic method is a movement methodology created 30 years ago by Juliu Horvath. This
unique exercise system and methodology uses specially designed equipment that allows for three- dimensional, fluid movement. It shares principles with the movements of yoga, dance, swimming

and Tai Chi. Gyrotonic sessions are often one-on- one, working individually with a licensed Gyrotonic instructor or held in a small group setting. The Gyrotonic method helps clients achieve a range

of goals including preventing and healing injuries, improving sports performance and boosting overall health, energy and well-being.

 

WHERE IS THE STUDIO?

Embody Minneapolis is located at 3041 Aldrich Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55408. Enter the studio through the front doors, go immediately to your right and then a quick left to the back of the building.

 

WILL THERE BE A FORMAL ASSESSMENT BEFORE I BEGIN?

First sessions typically include an introduction to the movements and gathering information about your fitness and medical history. This enables us to appropriately structure your sessions.

 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOR MY FIRST SESSION?

Arrive a few minutes early to the studio with an open mind. Our first session will include an orientation to the equipment and learning the basic movements
of Gyrotonic. You are the ultimate boss of your

body and all sessions are in the spirit of gentle, curious exploration. We work with you to help you find greater awareness, range of motion, flexibility, rhythm, expression, balance and fluidity. This happens little by little and there is no timeline or blueprint for how the methodology unfolds in each person.

 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY GYROTONIC SESSIONS?

Comfortable exercise clothing is recommended and long pants are ideal for the movements you’ll be doing. For footwear, plan to go barefoot or wear socks.

 

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME IN FOR GYROTONIC SESSIONS?

As often as your schedule and budget allow. The Gyrotonic method can be practiced daily. Most clients visit us once or twice per week and we would recommend weekly sessions if possible. The more often and consistently you can practice, the quicker and more profoundly you will feel changes and improvement.

 

HOW MUCH DOES A GYROTONIC SESSION COST?

We have a range of offerings at our studio and our price sheet will give you a breakdown of purchasing individual sessions and packages at Embody.

 

DO YOU HAVE SPECIAL PRICING OR DISCOUNTS?

We are happy to work out different options, including ongoing memberships. We occasionally run promotions that enable clients who have purchased packages to bring a friend to their session free of charge. Also, after you have done three or more private sessions, there may be a small group class

to fit your schedule and ability level. Your Gyrotonic instructor can help you evaluate if a small group setting would fit your needs.

In addition to the Gyrotonic method, Embody offers Gyrokinesis classes which include similar movements to Gyrotonic but is done on stools in a group setting. These classes are offered at a lower price point than an individual or group Gyrotonic session.
